Hey folks with more experience than I...

About to pull trigger on active p.a after years with big passive set up.
Narrowed it to Rcf hd32a x2 plus rcf 705 or 905 sub (1 to start maybe 2 later)

OR  Rcf 745a x 2 no sub.

We're a 6 piece rnb funk outfit..keys gat bass drums vox percussion.

Gigs are mostly anything from 50-150, bigger stuff always has pa and sound person provided.

Was leaning on option one... Then saw 745 with 4" voice and thought hmm that might have good vox low mid separation And take lick and bass And save me lugging a sub! And only 20kg each.

Love your thoughts before I splash my hard earned cash$

Separate subs and tops.  Trying to run bass(-ish) through tops only simply muddies up the low-mids, and they still can't reproduce bass.  Plus you can tailor the number of subwoofers to the style.  I've never run a full band through tops only and had it not suck - even with the nicer RCF (TT+) tops.

Considering your a funk band, you want subs!

The RCF 732 over a sub per side would be a good party system.
RCF is about the only one I know of that offers large format compression drivers
in a molded plastic speaker on a stick box....and yes they sound good.
