Title: Dante and Yamaha questions
Post by: jimwilkens on September 03, 2021, 06:01:34 PM
I have a couple of odd issues with an installed system. It is in a church and has been running fine for several years now. Last time I connected my computer to record a service I was getting clicks in the audio. Delving into Dante Controller I found a few symptoms that I'm not sure are related.

The MacBook Pro did show latency readings of over 10ms but then later settled down and worked fine.

All the receive channels on the Rio3224 showed "status Connected (Unicast), no audio" but audio has been fine and clean.

In clock status both the CL5 and the BSS BLU dsp are listed as clock master.

Since I have all the inputs going to two consoles plus the computer I might try multicast but I did not get a Dante "fanout detected" warning.

In my experience clicks in the audio indicates a clock issue. There should only be one "Master" clock. I don't think Unicast vs Multicast is going to solve your problem. If you are using DVS to get audio into the Mac 10ms latency is fairly normal. DVS does not have the low latency of the Brooklyn chipset.

Check the logs in Dante Controller to try and find any clock errors or issues, that is probably where the problem lies.
