Title: Sonifex Dante break in / out boxes. Anyone care to comment on converters
Post by: theo mack on June 04, 2021, 05:08:10 PM
I’m looking for a cost effective solution to add 16 line level Dante inputs.

The sonifex-avn-ai16-16-input-dante-reg-interface-poe seems to be a contender.
The 16 ins would be be in a wall panel attached to a variety of mic preamp outputs in a remote recoding room in a music facility.

I have no experience with the line. I’m wondering about the quality of conversion.

Can anyone comment on the sonifex product line or suggest another similar 16 channels of Dante break in?

Do you have a PoE capable Ethernet Switch to power it?

Yes, but I’d probably buy a managed switch with POE for this use case.

An employer just received two AO16.  Manual says POE+ and all I have is POE af and 24v passive.  I'm thinking I'll buy two injectors and not replace any of the switches I have that already work to my satisfaction. Opinions?
