Title: Will dc-powered bnc output damage a wireless receiver that doesn't support it?
Post by: Jay Tan on May 19, 2019, 02:47:03 AM
Looking to purchase a new antenna distribution unit.  Some antenna distros send 12vdc power over the bnc outputs to externally power a wireless receiver.
Would this 12vdc damage a Sennheiser G2 receiver which afaik doesn't support power-over-bnc?

Ok...  Apparently not.

With the receiver switched off, measure the resistance from the center pin to the outside of the BNC connector.  If you get a high value, it will be fine.
