Title: Help
Post by: Ryan247 on December 22, 2004, 07:23:40 PM

I am trying to figure out what kind of subs I want to get for a room that seats 500 people. I am having a hard time finding out what is good because I so busy. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Mackie SWA1801, JBL MP418, Peavey Sp118.... All good choices that would get the job done well.

If you cannot build LAB subs, a unit that was well rated at the Subwoofer Shootout was the Peavey QW218.  In the US, you can get it for $999 shipped, maybe better if you call around. http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-PEA00571310.html

I'd drive it with a bridged CE4000.  It is ok to start with just one box.  http://www.padrick.net/LiveSound/SubwooferInfo.htm
