Title: iPhone4s not connecting with my X32?? Help!

I'm having an issue linking my iphone4s with my X32. I have the IP correct as well as the subnet. The app itself isn't allowing me to "connect". I'm connected to wifi and my icon is present onto phone but for whatever reason the app isn't seeing or connecting.

Anyone else have this issue? I haven't updated any firmware on the X32 but I don't think that would have anything to do with the connection/app.

Brian,
The IP settings were the same on both the X32 and phone. Unless there was something that I didn't see?

Hi Sam,

I was reading the thread and thought that, if you can, please tell us what the actual IP of the X32 is, what the actual IP address of the iPhone is and what the router's IP address is, that way there won't be any confusion. Gotta spell it out for me :-)

Post by: jasonfinnigan on April 21, 2014, 11:42:23 AM: Also keep in mind if you let your Apps auto update the newest version of X32-Q you may not be able to use it with V 1.15 as the latest version is meant for v2.02. The apps have a tendency to not work between versions with the X32.

I've never actually used X32-Q myself but I do remember connecting it once and the status field show blank but if you tapped connect it would still connect.

If the IP settings are indeed the same on the phone and the X32, that is your problem. The IP addresses must be unique on each device, and in the same subnet.

The X32 IP must be configured manually, but the phone can be configured to automatically obtain an IP address from the wireless network. If that's the case, then setting the X32 with an IP that doesn't conflict with the DHCP range of the existing network. If you are not providing your own access point, then the number of variables that can get in the way can be nearly infinite, so I wouldn't recommend that.
