Title: Speaker Re-design
Post by: Acdisco on July 05, 2005, 07:37:26 AM
I am thinking about re designing my back firing Martin W Bins, Into front firing bass bins.

Is there a general rule for the loss of SPL and efficiency from going from one design to the next??

The general rule here that you're looking at a colossal pain in the ass by hacking into an existing box. I always heard that this particular box worked really well, so you'll need to justify (to yourself) the extent of work that you're facing. And if you decided that your life will be better with front-loaded boxes, you'll almost certainly come out better just buying a set of front-loaded boxes, unless you have a LOT of time on your hands.

Just my thoughts,
