Title: Battery Back-UPS Reminder
Post by: Aaron McQueen on May 31, 2007, 05:19:14 PM
Just a reminder that if you use a battery back up for you computer, projector, or digital console, to check your battery regularly.  They only last a few years.  We had a the power flicker on sunday, and we have the projection computer and projector connected to the back-UPS, and they did not stay on.  We had to reboot the computer and turn on the projector again.

That also happens if you buy an el cheapo UPS (personal experience)

Some UPS devices run the power directly through the box then switch to battery if something goes wrong involving a lag that shuts down the computer, the better ones run through the battery so there is little or no lag in switching to backup.

It's worth investing in a quality one Smile
