Keep in mind that there is a difference between four conductors and two twisted pairs.

For high-ish voltage speaker lines, twisted pair really isn't going to matter. I find ordinary 4-conductor cord works fine.
If 2-pair 12 gauge wire were to be used, it would be the fattest stuff you'd ever seen, with a ton of wadding in there to keep it round. It would be quite awkward.

Twisting can make a difference if there might be other audio runs with or near the speaker cable.

Are you saying it would help the speaker cable's signal, or allow less leakage into surrounding cables?
I've still never seen twisted pair speaker cable used in any real setting.

Twisted pairs of that large a gauge works way better in high-pair configurations, as less wadding is needed to make the cable round. That 8-pair cable isn't much different than standard socapex, really, except that it's twisted. The OD is about the same.
PS- I used to work for a division of West Penn wire, specifically a factory that made some of their Cat5 cable. That has no bearing on our discussion, though, just a tidbit of information.
