When hanging speakers (indoors) Static load, galvanized cable, can we use Aluminum Nicopress ever, or always copper (or zinc coated copper for Stainless)?

According to JR Clancy Aluminum sleeves should never be used for rigging. Copper sleeves on galvanized cable, tinned copper on stainless steel according to this document (http://www.jrclancy.com/Downloads/Nicopress1.pdf).

Yes, I've read that too, but it states, "lifting loads" as in "Dynamic loads". Wasn't sure if it applied  to "static" loads as in speakers that don't move.
Guess it's always better to be safe than sorry.

On the other hand I asked the guys at the Sapis booth at USITT last week and they said it didn't matter, and I think Bill even put a word in on this.

They were using Aluminium sleeves for their demo of the battery operated crimper.

I'd say Cooper is always safe but Aluminium probably is also

Perhaps the correct answer is “Only if the manufacture rates it for the intended load and safety factor.”
I have only used copper sleeves ordered from a rigging supply house for hangs that I have made my self.  Having said that most of my new safety cables come with aluminum sleeves.  I can get sleeves at the local farm supply store that I would never even think of rigging a speaker with.  I can't remember what the last set of cables I used had for ends.  But they did have the rated for lifting tag, complete with the cables rating and manufacturers name.

Keep in mind aluminum has many grades and each one has different characteristics.  I have a small milling machine.  Some aluminum is like machining taffy, other aluminum machines clean.
