The USB stick I use w/my LS-9 grew legs and walked away
I have not updated the software/firmware so it won't read/write to newer sticks.
Anyone have a source?

Hmmm. I work with a 2 year old LS/9 that has never had the firmware updated and it will work with any standard USB stick that does not have self-executing programs on it.

My LS-9 is older than yours.
None of the "high speed" USB sticks I've tried work on it.
The max stick it will take is 2 GB
As soon as I get a stick that works, the board will be getting updated and I'll be able to use newer ones.

I have a 2 gig Memorex, a 2 gig Lexar Firefly, and a 4 gig Toshiba that work on every Yamaha I've tried., M7 or LS/9.
I've found Yamaha consoles to be very picky about the USB drives used for firmware updates, though. A drive that will successfully save & load console configurations will not necessarily work for a firmware update. Of the above, the Memorex worked for firmware, as did a 2 gig Kingston. YMMV, etc.

The stick the went away was a 2 gig Kingston

Is there a reason you haven't updated the firmware on the console?

There hasn't been a need until now, It's been solid as a rock.
Got an older USB stick I can buy (or borrow?)

Steve,
I know they are not the same console...but, I recently upgraded a 'vintage' M7-48 from 1.10 to 3.51. I believe this console predates the LS9 completely. I used a 4GB Lacie stick w/ no problems: LaCie MosKeyto (http://www.amazon.com/LaCie-MosKeyto-Ultra-Small-130981/dp/B0041NWUJQ) (I deleted all of the files off the stick prior to upgrading, but did not reformat)
Maybe if it worked on an M7?...
Good luck Steve,
Kevin H.
