Interestingly, the replies by people with apparently "real" names seemed to have the most plausible explanations.

Are you referring to the person who called the "talent" an entitled twat muffin?  I do wonder if that phrase was put together by using that pick one word from each column insult generator.

When someone acts out like that, it's time for a FOH coffee break...with some nice lounge music through the PA. ;D

Ha!  That's my FL283 system.  Thanks for sharing.  Hadn't noticed.

Yeah, I found that a bit odd as I'd previously heard that insult as "muffin twat", but perhaps it's that "separated by a common language" thing... ;)

Wow, what a professional display on stage!

Yeah, it sucks when shit happens.  Yeah, it's ok to be pissed. But good talent would go out of their way to hide problems from the audience whenever possible.  If there's a PA problem, take a short break, fix it, and carry on.  Don't act like a 2 year old.

Interesting system. Can you share your thoughts and experience with it? Maybe in a separate thread so this doesn’t derail completely.

I think I'd turn off the mic and tell the dork/douche/a-hole that he broke it beating on the speaker.
The amount of disrespect for other peoples stuff is mind-boggling, as is his assumption that the sound crew isn't frantically trying to fix the problem.

There's a quote from Jean Michel Jarre from his Destination Docklands concerts, concerts that had their fair share of problems. Now the weather experienced on the 2 shows was horrid with rain and high winds, plus the floating stage that was supposed to travel up/down the Thames had to say put.
But with all this when he introduces himself he takes it all in his stride and says "well we've had a few difficulties tonight but well, frogs like rain!". Now that's how a professional handles things.

Well except for the LCR guy but how does the house system suddenly not work in LCR when presumably it worked right up til the BE got in front of it?  Interesting hang in any case.

Interestingly, the replies by people with apparently "real" names seemed to have the most plausible explanations.

This wasn't an equipment/PA snafu but...years ago when we lived in san Diego, we went to see Van Halen play at the Sports Stadium down there when Sammy Hagar was playing with Eddie.
During the show, Eddie had one of his famous hissy fits and basically walked off stage.
After only a minute or 2 of everyone not quite knowing what to do, Sammy had a stage hand bring out a stool and an acoustic guitar and he sat down and started to sing and play some of his earlier stuff. It looked to me to be totally impromptu and the show didn't miss a beat.
Eddie came back on about 10 minutes later and the scheduled show continued without any more 'interruptions'.
I thought that was one of the most professional things I have ever seen...... from Sammy that is!!

If you want to start a new thread with questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Why is he complaining that it is not feeding back?

Does anyone have a picture of this stage from the front? It looks weird. Why are the hangs SO LOW?

"We don't have our own FOH guy, but we have a show file!  So it's a no brainer easy gig!"

Actually, that would be just commupance if the PA came back on while he was beating on it and he got the full face feedback. >:(

I would have done the same thing as the FOH guy: It's his problem, not mine.

He was incredibly gracious at those gigs as was all the team unlike the clown in the video, he'd be shitting bits of microphone for days if he pulled that stunt on me

Maybe it's because I'm on my 3rd beer of the night but I bet if they had cut FOH to some of that annoyingly upbeat elevator music and put a TV test pattern on the video screen(if available) it might have diffused the situation.

I saw Van Hagar on tour at Molson Park in Barrie perhaps around the same time and Sammy did that exact same thing except I think it was a scheduled part of the show as there were no "technical issues" that I could see for the whole event just great sound and great music. Maybe it worked so well they added it as part of the show.

Hah!!!...Interesting. Eddie definitely displayed some anger and displeasure as he rushed off stage the night I saw them - it was the talk of everyone in our group that evening. So..... perhaps you are right OR maybe ....it was all an act in the first place..?

Anyone know what actually happened? Wrong patch seems viable. But with some other comments (There are two comments which seem real, but different from each other).

Anyway. I know which band I'd say "Nope! Never" to if I'd ever be asked to do house for if their guy was absent. Which would be never, but in "theory".

Reading some of the comments in the video's comment section it appears that some people said that the FOH console crashed and they were switching it out for another one.  That's probably why the monitors were working but not the FOH rig.
