Title: Camcorder query
Post by: Wade Davis on May 26, 2007, 02:07:57 AM
Greetings, Which camera would give the best image for low budget local cable broadcast, a canon GL2 or the JVC JYHD10 in the SD mode?

Thanks

Hi Wade,

Is the broadcast live, or is going to be edited before broadcast?  I have a GL2 and I like it.  It's a great camera.  I've never used the JVC, but it looks like it has some HD capability, so if you are post editing, I may want to record in HD and then down convert to SD mode for the broadcast.  And then keep at HD version as a backup.  Just a thought.

You can look at the church site in my signature, click on sermons and see some video recorded with the GL2.  Make sure you get a good fluid head tripod.  Right now I'm looking for a zoom control.

Hey, Aaron.  This is what we use (at church and personally) with our GL2.  It works quite nicely.  http://www.varizoom.com/products/controls/vzstealth.html
