Title: Renting wireless system
Post by: Dave Guilford on July 16, 2019, 11:58:26 PM
Team, I’ve posted before about transmitting Audio 300+ ft wirelessly.

The answers seem to be:
Neutrik Xirium
Lectrosonics IFB
Shure PSM rig with Helical antenna

No one near me has any of this for rent.  Any places that’ll let me rent and will ship to me?  Is that a thing we have in 2019 yet?

I need this for August 8 in Buffalo NY.

The other option if people still have some in their inventory is a Shure P9T transmitter and Shure UR4 (UHF-R) receiver.  And there's plenty of places that will rent/ship this gear to you - nothing in that list is too big to fit in a Pelican.

VER/PRG, Rentex, Mic Rentals, TC Furlong, and I'm sure plenty of others have this equipment and can ship it.  Not to mention any local production houses in the Buffalo area.

A Sennheiser IEM transmitter and a Sennheiser wireless mic receiver in the same frequency range with paddle antennas at each end will cover that distance.

I didn’t say there’s no rental places.  I said no one has it for rent.

I’ve called the first 4 already.  Good call on BAV, to whomever posted that.  I know Tony but completely forgot about them.

But.. just because they’re a production house doesn’t mean that they have what I need.  That’s the problem I’m running in to.

Does this mean you called CP Communications, and was told nothing was available?

Bexel Broadcast in Herndon, VA, formerly Systems Wireless.  Great service from them hiring Lectro IFB gear for point to point work.

I called a bunch of BUFFALO places that showed up when I searched. WestChester I didn’t bother calling because I was hoping for a local solution.

If you have it, don’t play coy.  PM me a rental rate.

I need it August 8 , but would like a few days earlier to familiarize myself and do a dry run.

Shipping to 14224, and will be shipped back August 9.

Would this work with an ew300iem and an ew100g4 mic receiver?  Do they need to be same generation?  Can I use a 100 series and 300 series?  Or do they need to match on everything?

The series and generation do not need to match.

I have a set of Sennheiser that I use with paddles. One part (I don’t remember which) is 100 series and the other is 300.
I use an LP-Claw to mount the receiver end paddle and a top hat on a tall speaker stand for the other.

Bexel closed this location a while ago.  Jetwave Wireless in Alexandria, VA is the shop now in the DC Metro area.

It's been a couple of years and the last time I called the 800 number I can't say it rang in VA.  I didn't personally handle the return packing/shipping so no idea where the Pelicans flew.. :D

Thanks for updating me, Bill!

Dave, we have the Shure PSM900/helical option in inventory - we aren't next door, but glad to help out if needed.

^^this.

Jetwave is what Systems Wireless was before Bexel bought them; Good solid local shop where you can actually talk to someone who knows something.  Good guys.
