The "problem" you are experiencing likely has nothing to do with the Sabine unit, but is due to the fact that reproducing true stereo over a larger listening area requires every seat in the house to be able to hear both channels of the stereo.  This requires a sophisticated and comprehensive speaker setup similar to movie theater sound or "surround" sound.

If you're just running L and R speaker stacks/hangs, stereo will not be a viable option.

What kind of speaker system/array do you have???

As Dick noted, getting "true stereo" over a larger listening area can be challenging and typically involves more than simply having left and right audio signals and speakers located left and right of the stage.  And not all systems intended or desired to be stereo.  But perhaps the more direct issue here is that without knowing how the NAV3600 is being used, how it is routing signals and how it fits into the rest of the system it's not clear what role it may or may not have in your situation.  Perhaps the more you can tell us about the system and the NAV3600 programming, the better people can respond.

And we need more info about the room - pictures would be wonderful...
