Title: Portable PA for Tours

I have a corporate client looking to get some portable PA units for tours. Anyone have any ideas.

The units would need to be portable, battery operated and have mic.

I'ld be interested in purchase the units if you know of any.

A mega phone would work but I'm looking for something a little more sleeker.

Define "tours", please.

Questions:
1. Indoors, outdoors, or both?

2. How far back will the furthest listener be?

3. What general SPL is desired at the furthest listener's position?

4. Will this be for speech reinforcement, music reproduction, or both?

Technomad has some nice stuff and its also pretty rugged, expensive but worth looking into.

Second for Anchor.  They have some targeted, unique solutions.

I set up an Explorer system for use at races (5K, 10K, etc. not NASCAR) and it's easy with adequate sound quality for the application.  Built in wireless makes it even easier for the client.

I've used Anchor's stuff also and have found it to work nicely.  The speakers are heavy as anything, but the built-in wireless mic(s) and CD player worked fine for me and held up well.  The companion speaker is good to have, also.
