Title: DL32 with a DL153 daisy chain ?
Post by: Douglas R. Allen on September 10, 2020, 05:43:29 AM
With the new 4.02 firmware update for the X/M32 line of mixers you can now do 1 to 1 patching on the in/outs. Pulling what channels are needed from the 48 AES50 channel stream.   I currently have a DL16 and a S16 for my 32 channels for my M32R desk.  I see the S16 as B box for just a few channels when needed. Mostly monitor outs where it is placed.
I may be working with a friends DL32 as well coming up next summer.  The DL32 AES50 shows it will pass channels 33-40 and 40-48 channels though AES50 in the manual.

My question is I'm am thinking of replacing my S16 with a DL153.  The DL153 doesn't daisy chain with another DL153 box but I have been reading it will work if the DL16 is placed first then out to a DL153 . Also with while searching I have read a few post that a DL32 will pass the Dl153's channels as 33-40 and 41-48 again with it placed after the DL32.  Then there are threads around stating neither will work.  ???

Has anyone tried this or has this equipment around to try it to see for sure if it will work?  My goal is a single Cat cable for FOH and doing monitors at FOH as well so I'm not looking for 2 cat5 runs. I have a analog split snake available if a monitor console is needed. I don't want to pick up a DL153 only to find I can't place it after a DL16 or DL32 and have its channels available.

Thanks for any information on this.
