I have been doing some shows recently with pretty cheap temporary staging. It has been giving me a headache with bass rigs. The low end is usually overpowering when the amp is on the stage. Are there any cheap-yet-effective methods of acoustically isolating the bass rig from the stage? Sometimes we can configure the staging so the bass rig can be placed on the floor, solving the problem, but this isn't always possible. Any help would make my life that much easier.

Sometimes just getting the cab up off the deck w/ a chair or 2 works wonders for tightening up the bass gtr.

Go to your local carpet store. They usually have a dumpster in the back. Get a couple of pieces of used carpet, cut to size. This works well under amps and drums. If the carpet gets dirty get some more. If your speakers are on the stage try ground stacking. Also the mics may be picking up the stage vibrations, carpet works well for this.
We had a stage at a festival that we had to put 9 quilts on it to stop problems.

a few things that works for me.
A boom extension will remove a little more of the temp stage resonance in the mic stand.
If you're using a mic stand for the bass drum, get it out of the stand and stick it right on the bass drum pillow.
Direct everything you can.
Stack all bass bins together as far away from any mic pickup as you can.
Stick wedges on the floor off the stage, wedges ON the stage ...well this is a place where a HPF can help keep the wedges from coupling the stage resonance.
Rebuild the temp platforms only for the room you need to perform, stack extra stage pieces away to keep them from corrupting the ones you need to use.
