Title: Lab Sub Build Question
Post by: Travis Dean TenKley on May 01, 2011, 10:07:00 PM
I'm starting to build 4 lab subs.  the only question that I really have is what is the space between the two subs or from one side of the box to the sub?  I haven't seen any kind of documentation on this.  Or will all the pieces just "fit" together once I start to assemble it?

Thanks.

Look at this page form the LSP Document page: http://www.prosoundweb.com/lsp/labhorn2b.jpg

It seems that there is 7" between the baffle boards.  The module is centered.  The panels are 90 deg to each other of sorts.  Look at some of the 3d images on the LSP page.  The pieces will fit together.  If you build the module correct it will just need to be fit inside of the box correctly.  Make sure you do a layout on one of the sides.  You will see there will be some funny stuff with measurements because the original plan was written in inches.  Try using the 18mm plans instead as that is most likely the wood you are using.

Also this page should be of some help.  It's too bad it's not linked at the LSP page.

Very cool. Thanks.  Now the only thing I need is a layout of the cutting and I could build 10 of these in a day:)

Thanks a ton for the links Chris. They clear up a lot of fog I had on that section of the construction. I feel I have a good enough grasp now to take a crack at it... as soon as I clear my shop out  ::)
