Running monitors this Saturday that requires 10 wedge mixes. I'll be using an Si Performer console. I want the ability to hear exactly what each wedge sounds like to the artists on stage. Unfortunately, it's difficult to hear the wedges from monitor world at this venue
Trying to figure out the best way to set up an engineers wedge. I haven't been able to come up with a good solution so I can listen to each mix with it being post everything. (post eq, dynamics, ect.)
What a good simple solution?

The Si performer has the option to have the solo's AFL (After Fader Listening). Make sure that is set. Get an 11th monitor and solo the aux busses to that monitor. Now you will hear exactly what the talent hears.
Also: Make sure the aux tap points are either Prefader, post eq or post fader.

Would that be post graphic eq ?

If the GEQ is inserted into the bus it should be portrayed in the Q wedge. You just want to be sure the solo function is set to be AFL ( after fader listen ) which should mean that you hear exactly what the artist does.

I believe so yes. It's been a while... Also: I think the Si, like most consoles, uses AFL as standard for output buses.

OK Thanks. I'll make a test run at the shop before Saturday.
Got "The Wailers" coming. They were here last year but I don't recall this many mixes, but we will make it happen though. :)

One more question.
I'll be using a powered wedge. In this scenario, were would I get my signal source? From aux bus 11?

You would go to monitor from main menu, and set l&r monitor speaker to on, and mono check to on. Set monitor out patch to any availabe bus. Connect XLR to that bus.

I tested it out in the shop just now and it works perfectly. Just how I hoped it would.

Not if you want to hear exactly what the artist is hearing. Having the same wedge is about the only option for that.
