Title: 60s Ear Worm - Song Title - Solved
Post by: Dennis Wiggins on September 04, 2019, 09:01:37 PM
60's
Female voice (As I recall, a Skeeter Davis-like voice)
Adagio (slow dance)

My "lyric" memory says:

We're only here for a little while
That's what they told me
That's what they said

What is this song?

-Dennis

It Only Hurts for a Little While
Ames Bros, then Anne Murray
(Female Hit in 1993, but I remember both - thus the date confusion)

It only hurts for a little while
That's what they tell me
That's what they say
It only hurts for a little while
Then all your heartaches will pass away
It's so easy to be smart
With somebody else's heart
But I don't know how to start forgetting you
What can I do
It only hurts for a little while
That's what they tell me
Just wait and see
But I will hurt till you come back to me
It's so easy to be smart
With somebody…

Thanks for sharing the answer, interesting stuff.  I guess it's a part of being music fiends to a fault.  I do it all the time, get a song into my head and must find it.  Generally it's the melody, but sometimes lyrics as well.

The curse of being a DJ.  :)
