Both High End and Chamsys have good products that have struggled due to lack of investment and distribution. ETC and Chauvet respectively are doing good things, and I expect that to continue, and these purchases nicely fill holes in their product lines.

I'll be interested to see where this goes. I can definitely see Chauvet using ChamSys to finally get into the large format console market. I wouldn't be surprised if ShowXpress went the way of the dinosaurs in favor of MagicQ PC either. I'm just glad to hear that Phil Watson will be staying on as the USA rep. for the MagicQ Products. Though I ended up going a different route for my last console purchase Phil was extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with.
As far as ETC acquiring HES, this one I think is a bit more of a wildcard. I'd expect ETC to leverage the HES acquisition to bring moving lights into their product line, but the console lineup could be a little more interesting. ETC already offers several lines of superb desks, so I'll be curious if the Hog tries to wiggle into any of that...

Etc has tried to get into the moving light market many times with poor success (s4 revolution anyone?), so maybe this will help them

Here is some backstory from ETC.

ETC desks and Hog desks are used by almost completely different groups of people. ETC has struggled to get into the touring market and HES/others have struggled to get into the theater market, so I see these dovetailing about as well as possible.
