Portable church install of a SC Expression 1 at FOH and Mini Stagebox16 at the back of a low stage. What are you using to rack a Mini Stagebox in? Pics are a plus. Thanks.

This has come up a few times on the Behringer S16s or similar, here is one in particular you might get some ideas from? http://forums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/topic,154643.0.html

Thanks Dave.

Just to be clear... I've been trying to figure this out for a while.
Are you using the Mini Stage box as a digital snake. My church is about to purchase a SI Performer 3 and I want to change over to a digital snake as well. And from what I can tell using a Mini Stagebox on stage with a MADI card in the desk FOH (connected via copper or fiber) will work exactly like this?
Sorry to Hi-jack the thread. I've done many searches just couldn't find a defined answer.

Gator molded case with wheels and pull out handle. Not a big fan of molded cases but this works really good and is light weight
The power strip is where I plug in all my powered monitors using all in one cables

No problem on the hijack. You do have it exactly correct Performer with MADI card at FOH with Mini Stagebox on the stage. Single Cat5e to connect the two units. Repatch your channels to the MADI source. Good to go. Just make sure which of the two choices of Stageboxes you go with. 16/8 is price tempting but those 8 outputs get chewed up quickly.

The 8 analog outs on the Mini16 are replicated on the Mini32. The second 8 outs on the Mini32 are via AES/EBU digital, and not directly useful to us smaller operators. You need either AES inputs on your outboard equipment or AES to analog converters to get the extra outs. The converter topic was covered in another thread recently.

BOOM!!!! Awesome!!!! Thanks so much!

So since the Performer 3 has 2 card slots... Could i just get 2 Mini16/8 and have them MADI to the desk on the 2 available slots? And then have 16 analog outs?

Yes, that should work.
You could use a Mini 16 and a Mini 32 for more inputs too.
I have used an optical MADI card (recording) in one slot and a CAT5 MADI card (stagebox) in the other and the board saw everything fine.
It assume it assigns the MADI channels based on the card switches, but I just plugged them in and it worked, so I never went deeper.
You can also use the on-board ins and outs in combination with the stage box.
I've put the stagebox on the opposite side as the Performer at monitors, and fed one side from the stagebox and the other side from monitor land.
The routing opportunities are endless (and easy!).

Thanks all for your input on this. Lots of great suggestions and examples. Trying to decide between a 4U or 6U amp rack case from Audiopile. Had excellent success with several different EWI cases from them and think the amp rack case will be a good home for the Mini Stagebox.
Any one use one of their slant top mixer cases for a Expression 1?

I have the EWI slant case made for the LS9. It fits well for my Si Compact. There's a little more front to back space. I like it a lot
Since this picture was taken I moved the mixer back to allow better access to the phone jack

Unless the mini stage box is super deep, I would think you want an fx rack, not an amp rack. It will be lighter.
They have cases in several depths.

Audiopile sematincs. They call them "amp or effects racks": http://www.audiopile.net/RUE-Series-Rack-Cases

SB 32 is 11" deep.
Only the IEC cord and the power switch are in back.
