Cat D8R back on solid ground. Good news is that it don't look that bad. I don't have any other info on the actual damage report, but hopefully after a little TLC, and she'll be back on her feet again.

They had a segment on this move on one of those shows on Discovery, TLC or The History Channel.  They managed to get that sucker stuck during that move.  I guess the amazing things is that they got it out.  Another thing is that it is electric so they had to provide power for that whole move.  Yet another thing interesting is that it crossed paths with another excavator moving to a different mine.  If I remember correctly that sucker is 300 some ft. tall.

Man that D8 looks like a spec of food caught in it's teeth.  Hard to tell, but that little blob of yellow near the bucket wheel is the D8 bulldozer!

Wonder how long it would take to dig a hole for a swimming pool with that thing.

Very cool images indeed.  Don't they also build amusement park rides?  No, wait...that is Huss Bremen.

How do you suppose that D8 got up there??  You think the bucket actually picked it up?

and one more.  I believe this view is not the same piece of equipment.  Krupp also makes a few relatively "smaller" bucket excavators as well.

Here is one that could be a little more practical to perform some surgical EQ.  Great for notching out that offensive frequency.

This is a pic of a unit from 1989.  I'll bet Jan could hook you up with a working unit if you help him move some used audio gear first.  

Delivery could be a PITA though.
