Congratulations! What speakers are you driving with them? I could not make out the models of the QSCs, what is the weight savings? Keep us posted on your experiences as you use them.
Are you planning to get some new sunglasses to go along with the new amps?

"light-em up".

There's probably no need for rack lights.

The old amps & weights:

QSC:
RMX2450 - 44.5lbs
CX404 - 21lbs
RMX1450 - 40lbs

For a total of 105.5lbs, not counting the cases or the crossover.

The new amps & weights:

Peavey:
IPR3000 - 8lbs
IPR1600 - 6.2lbs x 2

Total weight without crossover & cases 20.4lbs!! I'll be adding a third IPR16000 on Oct 28, for the same 6 channel monitor capabilities, and that will bring the total weight to 26.8lbs. Still a lot lighter.

Speakers:

FOH: pair of Yorkville Unity15's over LS800p's
Monitors: 4 Yorkville YX12's and an extra JBL monitor (unsure the model)

We haven't heard much about the Peaveys.  It's good to see they're finally shipping them.  Keep us posted on how they perform/hold up.

What's in the little rack under the Mini Mac?

GTD

It's an old simple Chauvet light controller. Our lights are pretty ghetto, so they might be next on the list, or a 6'x10' covered utility trailer.

The wheight savings are impressive if you look at the amps alone.  But when you factor inn ALL the stuff you have to move for just one gig, does it REALLY make a difference to your back - especially when you had the QSCs split up like you did?

What is the SQ like in comparison?

Hi,
i have been running an IPR-3000, for a couple of months now without any problem. Where I live we power these things using generators or wall sockets. Our power varies from 105 to 129 Volts ! 50 Hz !!

These things handle it all, I have had numerous problems with XTI-400 and PLX amps. but till now, this IPR is runninmg sold, these things run cold all the time and that is very impressive here in the Tropics. i am using it on monitors, haven`t had a chance to use it on FOH speakers. i am waiting to try the IPR-6000 as soon as I can get my hands on one.

All the best

a hand truck does come in handy, the FOH power with the crossover & case was closer to 60lbs. Not too bad with 2 people, a bit of a bitch for one, muscling it into the truck, down stairs etc etc. So I've already noticed a difference. Im pretty much a 1 man show, so anything to make things a bit lighter or easier is ok by me.

;)

Everything you see there for PA fits in my Dakota except for the light setup...

Nice system!  I've been running U15's over LS808's for a few years now and have been pretty happy overall.  The 60 degree dispersion angle on the U15's is a little narrow for use in short clubs though.

From the looks of the pic- you'll get more punch from the subs if you get them on ground level.

A few rumors out there in cyber space are saying the IPR4500 could be shipping now.

Blast a little bit of fog at those amps and you have a light show..
Anyways,  I looked at 3 web sites to get a freeken 8 ohm RMS rating for that Peavey amp and do you think
one of them could give anything but a 2ohm 1500 watt rating which I have no idea if that is Peak or RMS or bridged
or what the heck is goin on with these amp people and these crock of crap ratings!  Ok I vented here ...I feel better
I just wish they would put what the amp delivers at 8 ohms rms to get a general idea of whether the amp
is a piece of crap or a decent powerful amp.   I guess I could certainly find the 8 ohm rating but you can look
at 10 web pages selling these amps and its the same.

Look a little harder.  It took 10 seconds to find this.

A few rumors out there in cyber space are saying the IPR4500 could be shipping now.

I ordered 3 IPR4500 in March.  At that time I was told that the ship date they were getting from Peavey was mid-August and asked if i wanted something different.  I said no, those are what I want and let the order ride so I keep my place in the queue.
I got an email 2 weeks ago saying the the IPR-4500 is now the IPR -5000 and that they were waiting for them to come in.
