Title: WHo builds support trucks?
Post by: Tracy Garner on October 26, 2012, 09:27:42 PM
Move the thread if needed...

I do some heavy duty tailgating and I just purchased a new van. I would like to outfit it with some pro level AV connections that are accessible from outside the vehicle. Is there a company that specializes in fabricating panels that are used in vehicles. I guess I'm looking for someone that builds the TV remote trucks.

This might get you pointed in the right direction...

Markertek.com in the US.
Never used them for that, but they seem to do a lot of that sort of thing.

I have done some work with Steve Remote, owner of AuraSonic out of NYC.  He's probably the best around when it comes to fabrication and the concepts behind it.  I've helped him build a couple of trucks for remote recording, although I'm not sure if he would be interested in doing it for someone else.  Never hurts to ask though.  He's the moderator of the Remote Possibilities forum at Gearslutz.  Send him a PM and also do a search in that forum to see what kind of ideas are out there.

Thanks a lot. I don't need much. I just want a custom box that I can mount someplace on my van for a few AV hookups. If there are some other ideas about inverter use like an ambulance or remote truck, I'll appreciate it. If there are some off the shelf boxes I can leverage, it will save me from having to get something specially fabricated.
