Title: Terrific USB cable that plugs in either way

Keith Hall showed me this at NAB.  Got one and it is truly amazing.  The Connectors do not have an up or down side - they plug in either way like a Lightning cable.  Testing one in daily use for a couple of weeks and if it survives, I am chucking all my micro USB cables

Interesting but isn't this a solution looking for a problem?  ;)

USB-C is already out and showing up in products.  It goes either way and supports more power for faster charging of devices.

This solves a problem - - I bet that all of you have plugged in a micro usb and had to turn it over 50% of the time.  Same for USB A - the jack on the equipment isn't always in the same orientation between equipment - the label on the plug helps but you need to look carefully at the jack first.  Sure usb C is great but phones, misc computer equipment, charge ports on Freespeak all use micro usb.

Not so much of a "problem" that I would toss cables and spend more $$.
Same "problem" with AC plugs  ;)

I find that it takes 3 attempts to get it right. Try it, doesn't fit. Flip it over, still doesn't fit. Flip it again, it goes right in. Wth?!? 

Do they make 3 sided usb cables?

Compliant USB cables will have the USB logo on the top side of the connector.  For horizontally positioned USB devices, you should be able to feel the USB logo and then insert the connector with no problems.

The reversible connectors are neat, but word of caution. They can be extremely fragile, and while they work in most devices, they do not work in ALL devices. The result can occasionally be an intermittent connection.

However the mating USB connector on computers, and other devices like hubs and freespeak do NOT have a standard orientation.

Fragility is a mater of manufacturing, I agree.  Some cables, like all, are just junk and others are terrific.  Time and testing will tell.

My experience is that I NEVER have the orientation right, so in an attempt to plug it on the first try, I orient the connector opposite to what I think, first.   HAHA - success is not there either.  Triple sided is the solution.

The guy that invented USB should have an interesting funeral. They should put him in the ground, take him out turn him around and repeat.
