"mics and cables and other unnecessary stuff"

Damn all this time.

Odd collection of stuff, who knows.   that would be pretty aggressive to list on CL if it is.  He will be lucky to get 1/2 of that

The thing that says "theft" to me:  the presence of other instruments.  Trombone?  Couple of guitars (or at least the case/bags)...  If his band broke up or something, I'd think the players would take their instruments.

He claims to have title to the trailer and receipts for the gear but that doesn't jive up with the pics.

Also, if this was stolen my bet is it wasn't recently.

Edidt PS.  Thomas posted a link to reddit where this was discussed; seems someone contacted the seller and got the story.  Makes sense. Stand down.

"unnecessary stuff"

= he doesn't know what it is, yet it "belongs" to him

From what I read, police recently broke up a LARGE ring of thieves that specifically targeted musicians with trailers.

Possible case closed theory, apparently on reddit the stuff belonged to the seller's father who quit because of sickness.

Mods, feel free to move the thread to basement if necessary.

I don't know because there's this story from last week saying that a trailer full of gear was stolen.

I knew a guy that would go estate sales in los angeles and buy all kinds of stuff he knew nothing about. He bought a lot of junk music gear from sale and called me asking what it was. At the end I told him he overpaid for entry level stuff. When I kick the bucket someone will have time trying to figure out the conglomaration of stuff I have. Drums, keyboards, guitars, amps, PA, Reel to Reels . cassette decks, CD recorder, VCR's, mixers, Ford 4 speed transmission, Ford stroker engines, model choo choo locomotives, trailers, blow up dolls, zztop style tv dinners, home built computers, cogonymahogny L bows, JBL D series speaker magnets, hihat stand cowbell, and other junk. The guy with that CL ad looks like he bought someone elses junk at an estate sale. I have seen ads on ebay where someone bought a reel to reel or cassette deck or power amp at an estate sale and say they have no way to test it and have a high starting bid. Good luck selling something you cant test. I have an old car for sale but I have no way of testing it to see of it runs.
