Title: Suggestions For Analog Gate Unit
Post by: Rufus G. Crowder on April 24, 2012, 05:53:03 PM: Looking for a decent quality analog gate unit (preferably) single space that would do a decent job on gating some toms. I have seen some two space Rane G4's. Going digital in the near future so price is a consideration point.

The Rane unit is not analog. That said, it is a nice piece of gear. Check your PM's.

Post by: Ryan Grandusky on April 25, 2012, 09:26:42 AM: +1 on a used Aphex 105 logic assisted quad gate if you see one pop up on ebay, I love mine. Other than that I think a used DBX 1074 quad gate would also make you happy.

ART made an 8-channel 2RU one a few years back that was really easy to use and sounded great.

Love my ProGate8. You might also check out LA Audio MG-16 digital gates, in single RU package. Not as easy to operate, but for basic gates it may do the trick for you. Neither are analog, though.
