Title: Color balancing Ribalta
Post by: Mattias Thorsén on September 11, 2007, 09:58:27 AM
Hi there!

We bought 25 SCM Ribaltas some time ago. Does anyone have any tips on how to color balance them correctly. We want them to show the same color, especially white, when used on cyclos etc. We control them via DMX and when we set RGB to 100%/100%/100% it would be nice to have an almost white curtain, but in reality it looks more like a bright rainbow. We have tried the COLBALANCE-mode, the RESERVED-mode and DMX-adjusting with similar results.

first of all...

have you double checked each unit to make sure besides individual DMX address are they are all setup (internal parameters) the same.

this would be the first place to look at.

2nd
are you using any of the lens kits? or your just blasting away with no diffusion lens?

this could also easily fix your problem of pixellation on your cyc

3rd
how far are these units deployed from your cyc, & a what focus angle off vertical are they setup, this could also provide to a certain degree a good amount of pixellation on the cyc portion nearest to the units

can you back them off from the cyc or is hang position or space an issue

any of these items can fix or alleviate to a degree your problems
