I did actually use the K&M model for the D6 first -> Loved the sound. Nice click together with a decent donkey kick.
Then on another gig with the same kick I tried something else. I put my e901 inside the kick on the pillow and positioned D6 inside the hole on a standard mic stand so that D6 was almost entirely in, but some 1.5" still from the "thin part" was out.
WOW!!!
I got the click that I knew I will get by using the e901 -> this is the one I like myself
BUT...
The "donkey kick" totally surprised me. D6 gave SO much more punch to the lower end by this setup than any other mic I've used before.
I think I have found my new favorite kick mic combo
