I tell ya!  ...I have to do it all!!  ...drummer, singer, PA and lighting owner/maintainer/etc/etc.

I tell the others in the group...
"when the PA and lighting is working perfectly, it's 'our system is sweet'; but when somethings wrong with it, it's 'somethings wrong with your PA'.  haha!

Terry,

I have some questions regarding your truss and lifts:

What kind of lifts are you using (brand and model)?

Is that 12" box truss?

How far does the truss span across the back of the stage?

Sorry for all the questions but I am thinking about adding 24' to 30' of truss with lifts but feel a bit limited in choices.

DMX Operator Pro, at the moment. I've got a Show Designer 2 being repaired at Elation (that I picked up really cheap).

The Op Pro has been very good. I run lights from behind the drums too, and I've dumped beer, Jager, and anything else that I may be drinking right in to the top of it. It has continued to work flawlessly for about 4 years now. Unfortunately, they are a little too limited for what I want to do, so that's the reason I've acquired the SD2 (although I haven't used it yet).

Its Global Truss 12" box. I've got 3 sticks of 10' and 1 stick of 6.5'. I use different lengths depending on where we play. A couple of the picks above are on a corner stage - I've got a (homemade) corner truss setup that I use at that particular venue.

I can't remember the stand brand. - I got them from Centerstage Lighting - I think they are rated for about 150 lbs each, and I'm quite embarrassed to say that I'm probably over that limit at times. Good, heavy weight stands are hard to afford - but that's what I need to do.

On the drummer's (read owner's) head.  ...how fitting!  haha!

I wish I could find an in-between stand.  Of course, I'd really like to have a couple of genie's, but I can't afford them at this point of my (small) sound co.
