Martin Freekie Keeps wiping out shows and banks
« on: May 23, 2010, 11:49:26 AM »

I have had several of the Martin Freekie lighting boards and there appears to be a common problem that they lose shows and banks? Does anyone know why this is and if there is a perm fix? Big flaw with these boards is that they don't backup the programming to external flash.

Is there an internal battery?

Not sure of a fix, but I too own one of these boards.  Shortly after my initial purchase (within a few days) the Freekie was "freaking" out on me pretty badly.  It would lose banks, shows, and everything in between.  Setting the unit back to factory default didn't even help.  I ended up sending it back to Martin on a warranty claim and they replaced the whole circuit board.  Since the repair it has only flaked out on me once.  (Of course now that I write this I will probably find it blanked out at home this evening.)  I have owned the unit for approximately two years.  All in all it has been a good unit, nothing to completely rave about.  I see it for what it is.  I know I will need to invest in something more robust in the near future.

So not much help but I did want to pass on that I have had the same issues.  Maybe try a warranty claim if you can.  Seemed to help me.
