Hello all... we have used many types of gooseneck podium mics in the past but don't have any reason to call one our favorite.

When it comes to Cardioid or Super C. gooseneck mics for podium speech applications does any one have a favorite...and why.  Just curious?

BTW we haven't tried any of the Audix part #'s which we are definitely interested in.

My favorite is the Flex series from Earthworks, which are a definite cut above the rest (and the price reflects this).

Sounds great, very good polar response, appears to be robust.

I happen to like the AKG modular acoustics stuff. A GN15E with a CK47 element is pretty cool and discrete with a good loudspeaker design.

Never used that piece but something you definitely opened my eyes to... I will def check that out.

Steve nice with the AKG as well I happen to be thinking about longer flex mics, but the stubbies are great for alot apps, especially clarity in audio conference.

I've had good sucess with the Shure MX series. I really like the snap on wind screens, they don't fall off randomly.

I also had a spare that I tried on an acoustic guitar and it worked better than I expected.

I've had great experiences with the Electrovoice Polarchoice multi-pattern goosenecks and also with the Sennheiser K-6/ME66 combination.  The Sennheiser is actually a shotgun mic but the tight pattern works really well for corporate events since the mic doesn't have to be anywhere near the person's mouth.

As have I. It's been great to have the 4 pattern choices right there instantly available.

I've even had a couple of gigs where I could use it in omni mode.

+1 for the Polarchoice.  Aside from the obvious polar options, I thought it sounded very warm and had great gain before feedback.  The only drawback in my eyes was the size of the windscreen (not that I really cared but the client usually had something to say about it).
