The bottom amp rack (with cover still on) has 2 ancient Yamaha P2200's that I almost never use. Saturday I just moved a crossover from the FOH rack to the amp rack and swapped the XTI4000 for the CE4000 (Hi, my name is Jeff and I have an amplifier addiction). When I ordered the rack lights I had no idea they'd have my initials silk screened on them.

I just got the HP computer and will be swapping it for the Numark MPCD3 to convert my FOH to recording/FOH (using the Steinberg Cubase software that came with the TASCAM FW-1804 firewire preamp/interface). I just need to get a ventillated 3 space rack shelf and an 8ch ADAT preamp (ADA8000/?:looking for a steal on Ebay) to finish it.

I rebuilt my preamp rack for my 01V96 this spring. It used to be in an 8 space case that was a bit heavy for me to lug alone so I got an EWI 4 space case and it is much easier to move.
While I was at it I brought the 2nd 8 outputs out to the rear.

Alright... I wanna see what is in your Rack Cases...

Well okay then! I stuck a couple of shots on the web of a few racks that belong to the production company I worked for when I lived in Tampa. Some of these racks may not exist anymore.

Check it out here:

Rob - are those ADAT optical passthroughs?  I've been looking for a way to get my ADAT connections into a Neutrik D sized hole, or any other size for that matter, but I've been unable to find anything.

Looks great!

Thanks!

Yes they are. The upper right is the BNC for the word clock. That way I can use only inputs if I want to use all 24 ADAT outputs for recording.

What I did was this...
I bought some "D" blanks from Triktags.com (they were actually drilled for 1/4" jacks) and also bought some TosLink Couplers. Here is an example - http://www.hosatech.com/hosa/products/GOP-328.html

I then drilled out the blank for a tight fit on the coupler and used epoxy to hold it. I used short fiber jumpers inside to connect to the preamps.

At the bottom I just took a normal cheap rack mount power strip, removed the cord (on the other side) and filled the hole with a bolt and washer. Then punched a couple of holes on the outside for the Powercon connectors.

What I like about this is that there isn't any fishing around inside the rack for setup.
What is a problem is getting all this to fit Smile If you are too generous with the XLR cable lengths it is tough to close it all up.
