Well at least that's in my price range. Now that you mention a doghouse though...

I'm guessing to get one with a doghouse though I'm gonna have to get it custom built correct?

And I don't think you're going to get one from Road Ready.
When you call they tell you to have the vendor spec out the dimensions on one of their forms.
The folks at my favorite mom and pop shop helped with this.
If you want to pursue the Road Ready path,
call Nelson over at Broadway Music
Thats who specced my case, perfect fit.

Here is my latest toy / custom project almost completed:

index.php/fa/9165/0/

It's a 6 channel drum snake. Everything but the XLR connectors I made; the plate and the box. I was happy with how it came out considering it cost me virtually nothing to make. 3 coats of bombay mohagany stain and 2 of polyurethane and it is ready to classy up any stage.

Very classy!

How did you make the plate?  I really need to make one for my amp rack and can't see to find any sort of pre-punched plate that has the right size/number of holes in it.

Normaly we just grab a blank plate and a uni-bit and go to town.

It takes practice to get good at making it strait... that and making sure you have the right spot about 4 times.... and a drill press. Razz  But thats probobly just me. I can't hang things strait for the life of me.

Exactly. Use a small metal punch to make a dimple where you are going to drill, then drill maybe a 1/8" hole with a regular twist bit, then go to town with the unibit. That's how I've made all my amp rack plates and they're very nice and custom looking.

I use a 15/16" Greenlee punch when I need to custom make a panel but for racks I just buy them from either Parts Express or Triktags.

Awesome, Tom.  A very sharp, smaller version of a 12ch box I built many moons ago..

index.php/fa/9181/0/

As you can see it's just a 12 hole 1sp rack panel.  There was just enough space on the sides to add the strain relief.  It worked great when laying it next to a drumkit with the connectors facing upstage, the audience couldn't see any connectors or wire, just what a appears to be a block of wood.  It's pretty beat nowadays, but I'm now thinking I should restain it using your mahogany stain idea because damn that looks good!

Nice work!
