i am using a foh console (gl2400) and a monitor mixer for ears (mix wiz) and am currently just using y-cables at the snake to split the signal.  when using phantom power which board should i enable it on?  foh or monitors?  i am upgrading my drum mics from dynamic mics to condensers that require phantom power so you can see why i'm askin.  thanx in advance.

For the reason, that phantom powered mics absolutely need ground return line (pin #1), FOH seems like a logical solution. MON console might get 'ground lifted' so problems are more likely to occur.

From where I come we always apply phantom from foh, except when active splitters w/phantom are on stage.

Just avoid applying phantom from both mixers...
