But wouldnt that effect the quality of the image when its not on blackout?  I would think a clear gel would degrade the image quality a bit.  ...or maybe I don't understand the application?

The color scroller only has all black and another section that's open except for the strips down either side that aren't seen. These things are used all the time to douse the lights in arenas without having to wait for 5 mins for those lights to back up to full output.

Here's another one and you don't have to order it from Denmark.
But it's not DMX.
Are you going to let the squints control your projector?  Very Happy

Hello,
I just happened to see your note here about seeing "Video Black" on your stage.  We actually released a product almost a year ago to help get rid of this problem.  The product is called the "Projector Dowser" and is available through any City Theatrical dealer.  The unit is DMX controlled and it also has a contact closure switch on the unit in case you do not have DMX available. One issue of using a Color Scroller is that you will need to project through a gelstring of the scroller which may effect your focus of the projector.  With the "Projector Dowser", the Flag drops down in front of the lens to give you your Black Out effect.
If you are interested in learning more about this product, please let me know and I would be happy to talk with you about it or set you up with a demonstration.
Thanks!
