Steve,

FWIW, I have made dollies that have holes where the rubber feet are on cabinets and cases, and they key in nicely.  With the "Caster" thread links you could get some nice casters that lock totally, and make up a pair of dollies from some baltic birch plywood. Just roll your two FOH stacks right in and go.

Best regards,

John

Drilling holes in new cabinets is scary no matter how many times you measure and triple check.  I'm still nervous and the job is done!

As for dolly's, I lift the cabs in and out of my van so they wouldn't be any better or faster than my 2-wheeled cart.  If I was in a box truck or trailer using a ramp, dolly's might be the way to go.

Another reason I'd like wheels attached is so I don't have to worry about forgetting them!  (2 weekends ago I left the 2-wheel cart on my front porch.  Duuohhhh!!!)

Steve, couple of things, I time aligned my Gs last night, found they needed 7.39ms (8.36') at 100hz xover. Thats may help with the chest thump, maybe, if you can dial that in with your DSP. Also, I got a quote from Peter at undercovernyc for covers, $115 each for F1s.

I have "G's" on order now Smile Should have em for next weekend.

On a related note I ordered F1 covers for my EV tops. Covers for the Growlers after I get them.

I have F2 covers for my monitor wedges. Peter has been super easy to deal with.

Jeff, when coupling the horn mouths together laying 2 Growlers on their sides, which end should face the other sub?

Thanks

Rob,

One great thing about the growler is its flexability. Ideally, horns should be tightly coupled to each other and the ground.

Jeff, Does putting rubber feet on the cabinet stop it from being "tightly coupled with the ground"

I'm not Jeff, but the answer for any subwoofer is "no"... simply because the ground couples "tightly" with any subwoofer that is within a few feet of it. Low frequencies have long wavelengths which means you can be a little sloppy with your placement and still get coupling.

That reminds me.  Quite a while back, I found a downloadable test CD that you posted somewhere.  It had pink noise and a lot of other tones on it, and I've always meant to say thank you for posting that.  I use it on a regular basis.

Thank You Bink!
