Clearone XAP 400
« on: March 21, 2007, 03:45:51 pm »

I was hoping on some help on one of our projects. We have installed an Xap 400. There is a BIAMP VRAM Mixer which is connected to a Sabine Feedback Exterminator through the XAP 400. There seems to be a humming noise in the following configuration which is not there when BIAMP is connected to Sabine.

Do you have any suggestions with respect to the same?

Have you done any troubleshooting?  No reason to reinvent the wheel and it would help to know anything you've done and how it affected the noise.  Does the noise seem to change or go away when specific input or outputs or connected or disconnected?  Does changing any individual input or output levels in the XAP software affect the noise?

Have you checked for differences in the VRAM output levels versus the XAP output levels?  Are they about the same or have you maybe dramatically changed the gain structure?

Can you tell us more about the actual signal paths and wiring?  It is not obvious why the XAP was added or what it is doing and knowing what is wired to what and what wiring scheme was used might also help.

Have you worked with these products in the past without these problems or is this your first time with them?

Also, it is forum policy to use your full name, see http://srforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/m/77691/13457/#msg _77691.  You need to change it or your post may be deleted.
