I need info on Celestion SH-2 subs
« on: March 07, 2007, 08:12:43 pm »

I just came into possession of a pair of Celestion SH-2 subwoofers but I have no idea what their specs are. Does anyone know what sensitivity, power handling and recommended crossover frequency might be on these?

Patrick, are your speakers SH2 or SR2? I don't recall an SH2, but the SR2 was an 18" bandpass bass cab, matched to the SR1 Mk2 full range speaker(one of my favourite speaker on a stick solutions), and with the following specs -

Driver 1 x 18" bass driver
Impedance 8 Ohm
Power Rating 1000W
Sensitivity (1W @ 1m) 98dB
Maximum SPL 128dB
Frequency Response 40Hz - 150Hz (bandpass)
Connectors 2 x Neutrik

They could be those cabinets and part of the "r" in SR-2 was rubbed off making it look like SH-2. They are that style of bandpass box but with the Celestion logo on the front. Mine have one set of binding posts and a male and female XLR. I'll compare dimensions.
