Suggestions for a graphics/announcements scroller
« on: January 24, 2007, 01:42:04 AM »

I'm looking for a hardware device to scroll announcements graphics throughout the church TVs.  I have the infrastructure, but need a device.  This would be something like is in many churches and schools on lobby TVs.  I know a CG could do it, but is there a cheaper option?

Here are my desires:
-Full screen graphics display
-Dissolve transitions between graphics, timed, looping, etc
-Fully controllable over ethernet (upload graphics, etc)
-Composite video output (or I could convert it)
-Ability to leave it running 24/7

I'm sure I'm just missing what these things are called, as I can't seem to find it on Google, etc.  Is there a turnkey box, or am I best advised to use a PC and do it myself?

Thanks!

focus enhacements is carying the firefly boxes now that could probably do what you need without breaking the budget.

Sounds like a Chy-TV unit with the Ethernet option would be a good choice for your situation, and give you some room for added features at the same time.  I think it is running about $1500 right now.

I'm a big fan of the AAvelin MagicBox line but at over $3000 for the basic unit it might be out of your price range. They are really easy to program.
