Your most outrageous use of a Countryman DI...
« on: January 18, 2007, 11:21:51 PM »

...for something other than its intended purpose of interfacing unbalanced equipment into balanced inputs.

I can't believe that the news of Mr Countryman's passing escaped us for so long. So I, for some reason I can't figure out, wanted to start a thread for us to post the various uses for the nearly-indesructable Type 85 DI. Get on past the use of Audio Angular Adjustment Accesory that we've all done before and give us what you've used one for. Passage to the moon, truck jack, women's facials, fire-starter, you name it.

It's hard to see in this picture, but Type 85s are perfect for chocking my trailer tires.

Also great as "leaf spring helpers" in the van when it's loaded down.

Unfortunately my OT use has been limited to angle adjusting, but I can't think of a better tribute to a great innovator. I am astounded that it took till now to find out this sad news. He will be remembered.
