Replacement EV mic clips...
« on: December 11, 2006, 12:14:10 am »

I've got an N/D 868 that is missing a clip. Are there any other places where I can buy the clip without having to go through EV support? I would prefer an original EV clip if I can get it.

Matt,
guess I don't know what you mean by "going through EV support".  Any EV microphone dealer can order the part for you.
The EV rep in your neck of the woods is Starin Marketing.  They should be able to help you sort it out.
Otherwise PM me if needed.

It's an EV model 320 clamp.  Most dealers should stock them.  They list for 49.00

Unless it's for handheld vocals, try the Groove Tubes SM3 shock mount - MSRP $39.  I got a couple to try, and I'm gonna order more, as 20dB less floor/stand noise into the mic is not a bad thing.    http://www.groovetubes.com/assets/2140_HM%20&%20SM.pdf

Judging by the picture, the SM3 doesn't look like it would hold this EV mic (or an RE-20) securely.  What mic(s) do you currently have an SM3 experience?

Thanks!

I must have my EV models confused.  The SM3 is spec'd for mics from .625" to 1.25".  On the small ones the fit is loose, and requires something to keep the mic in place.  It's fine with something the size of an OM7 or SM58.
