I guess thats true, still not in my user experience, i started with desks that either had no phantom, or individual phantom, so no experience.

But i like to use lots of ribbons (M160 and 260), phantom that cant be turned off would be a very bad thing.

Multiple set changes also (occasionally) see a mic unplugged before the channels are muted, its a mistake but one that should not cause any untoward effects under proper operating conditions.

Still dont like it, dump the phantom when its not needed, use a 1 to 1 transformer if required.
