Jim Brown is a respected designer and Acuostician and spent many years in the Chicago area. I heard rumor that he moved to the west coast recently. If he isn't interested in helping you, I'm sure he could put you in touch with someone. PM me and I'll try to put you in touch with him.

The usual question here, are you looking for someone for design services, perhaps with the intent to bid or negotiate the resulting design, or are you looking for turnkey design, procurement and installation under a single contract?

Also, do you have an acoustician or would you prefer someone who could offer those services as well?  And where are you in the design process, that may also affect the approaches that are feasible?

There are a number of very good consultants and design/build contractors in that area, but it might avoid a lot of confusion and misunderstanding to first identify which it is that you really are looking for.

Jim has in fact moved to Santa Cruz, but I do believe his firm remains active in Chicago.  www.audiosystemsgroup.com
