2 space mixer/amp
« on: October 08, 2006, 04:28:01 pm »

Dear Forum Members,

I am looking for product suggestions on a 2 space mixer/amp very much along the lines of this Rolls product:  The Rolls may fir my needs, but wanted to reach out to everyone for other suggestions.

- Unit will be rack mounted (4 space unit for portable use only)
- Unit will power permanently installed outdoor speakers, but rack will be moved indoors when not in use.  FYI: Speaker are Community R.25's.
- Power requirements approx. 75-150 watts (8 ohms) or 125 - 200 (4 ohms).  More power wouldn't be a problem, less would be.
- Lightweight (within reason) approx. 20 pounds or less
- 16/8/4 ohm operation, constant voltage not required.
- 2 mic inputs, 2 source inputs
- Under $ 750

Check out the Tascam AV-452. The list is more than you want but maybe you can get it for a good price.

I wanted one of these without the amp but had to get this and just not use the amp.

You may want to check out some of the offerings from TOA.  They are generally regarded as more of an installation brand, but for your situation it may work out well.

The A-912 MK2 is a mono 120W amp w/ 8ch modular mixer.  There are tons of different modules available to handle pretty much any input.

The new A-9120 DH is a 2ch 120 W amp, also modular input.  Built in DSP as well.

Not sure about the US pricing but it should be close to your budget.

Both are 2RU units.
