Selenium Line Array
« on: September 01, 2006, 04:46:12 PM »

Anyone seen/heard/used/rigged one of these?

www.seleniumloudspeakers.com and click on the "Line Array" link on the left.

I've had nothing but excellent results using their various drivers and horn lenses in the past so I'm thinking that if they know their stuff regarding box design, they may not be too bad.

Yeah I know...that was my thought.

I was curious only because there are tons of companies out there jumping on the line array bandwagon...if only by name, not always by function.  I was interested to hear of Selenium was one of those "me too" companies or if they really had something good.

?!?

I've used axiom and it's way better then more blazoned models...
The project is italian (no chinese) and it's assistence (in italy and europe) is pretty good, nothing like wallmart style of selling...
so... what you are joking about? Something I'm missing?  Shocked

Why are people here so ignorant about products that are not coming from the states?
Why Sellenium can not make a usable line array?
They sertainly make respectable drivers, so why they can not make a box for them?

I am sure there are worst products out there that gained respect somehow.

I have used many other Proel-branded items (both lighting and sound), so I'm very familiar with their build quality and design originality. Maybe what we get in the US is not representative of their full product line., because what I've seen is on par with the legendary "B" company.

Since I've apparently set the emails flying in Italy with my original comments thus far, I'll just leave it at that.

Honestly, The Selenium Line Array looks pretty nice. Many companies HF Drivers are or are made by Selenium. We have a "proprietary" (US Factory Built) Line Array and use Selenium 3305's the same they are using in those cabinets, and they are very, very loud and very, very clean. I know it doesn't say JBL or Meyer on it, but it still looks like a nice clean system, and probably one of the more efficient ones out there. Maybe good for a regional sound co?

That's pretty much what I was thinking.  They make excellent drivers...some of which have been used in the finest cabs around.  There's nothing saying they don't know how to make a good box.  It doesn't look like just another line array someone slapped together.

Now sound quality I can't comment on as I haven't heard them.  Which was why I started the topic...I was curious if they got it right.

I mean: have you ever listen to Axiom? You put a link to Axiom, precise page of precise model. So: have you ever listen to it? Have you ever set it up?
I agree that many proel products sucks, but not axiom (IMHO).

GLuca,

I think this system is designed by Mario Di Cola. So it deserves attention. I had a short listen to it and I think it sounded OK. I do agree with your comment that some of the Proel speakers were less than HiFi. But that seems to be changing.
