Pelican case size?
« on: August 20, 2006, 09:23:43 PM »

Hey Labsters,

I was thinking (i know... bad idea) of picking up a Pelican case for my FOH stuff... Sence i jump around from rig to rig within my company i would like to keep my Smaart/FOH stuff all in one light weight box.

The list:

Laptop
USB mic pre
Ref mic
handfull of cables
board tape/sharpie
Sony cans
mini folding mic stand

Any ideas what model #/size would work best???

looking forward to some input on this one.

Thanks

You can shop through the Pelican site yourself to see more sizes, but I would want one of the cases on wheels for dragging around large work sites. If all your stuff would fit, I'd go with the 1560 as you can get it in orange or yellow, which is a lot easier to spot among everyone else's Pelican cases. If you need one a little bigger, there is the 1610, or 1620. Those are not available in the easy to spot colors though.

I'd go for the 1510.  Big enuff for all that, and is airline carry-on sized... has a pull out handle and wheels.  At least as of today, you can carry on all the items on your list for USA domestic flights.

Good luck.

Thanks guys,  i will try the 1510 should hold what i need with some layering and if not i am sure we find a use for it.  Hmmm... colers would be nice, also good to be able to stash when need be...  black works for me (it's a ford thing)

Rat Sound has many Pelican cases and are very nice to deal with.
