I have four boxes with blown 18Sound ND1460 (on XT1464 horns).
How bad they'd sound with Precision Devices PDC14?
I need the boxes next week and can't get ND1460s before September...
Obviously, I don't have any PDC14 to try now, but I can buy them and have them shipped to me Monday.

BMS4554 and 4555 do work very well on that horn if crossed over at 1.2 kHz or higher, and are reasonably priced. I would suggest biamping with  dsp crossover and use of measurement software ( "Arta"  in demo mode is enough) to correctly "fit" it with the  rest of the box.

The boxes are already biamped (2 Crown Micro-Tech 2400) and processed (Behringer DCX2496)
I'll take your advice and buy four BMS4554 if I can get them before Thursday.
I need at least a couple of hours to tweak the crossover...

Carlo,you're wellcome. Just keep in mind that those are 1-3/4 in voice coils versus 3 in of ND1460, however they are about 2 db more efficient across the board, so it should be a wash as far as real world SPL (power) handling goes. You are limiting that Crown (if that is what the HF driver is powered with ), aren't you? I could look-up my DCX settings, but it's in storage right now. If I remember  it required one cut at around 2.5 kHz, pretty wide Q and CD horn compensation from about 4 or 5 kHz up at like 4 or 5 db/oct. This was enough to have it flat within +/- 2db all the way to 19 kHz.

Yes, I am, obviously.
And, no, *I* didn't blow the original ND1460s.
Last week a band "tech" rented the system and managed to power the poor boxes from the *sub* amp rack...

Thanks, pretty similar to what I had for the ND1460. The XT1464 horn, I suspect...
